Product Description Classic parties are a success with the right tools. With this great Stainless Steel Ice Crusher you can entertain in style. Perfect mounds of crushed ice are created instantly for shaken martini's and tropical cocktails. Makes delicious ice desserts such as snow cones and slushes. Great for ice buckets and to keep food fresh on ice beds. Large, easy access ice chute makes it easy to use, ice cubes go in and crushed ice comes out. See thru ice container with 12 cup capacity. Crushes 1-1/2 lbs of ice per minute, that's 90 pounds per hour.

Can't recommend this one. Not as advertised and unreliable. April 20, 2009 Mom in the Midwest 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
I originally rated this unit 4 stars, but unfortunately after getting two units that broke immediately, I would change this to no stars if I could. I bought this unit primarily to make crushed ice for tea and cocktails, and to make ice that fits easily into water bottles for biking and school use. It worked well for that application when it worked at all. The advertised settings for ice to make snowcones and slushies are non existent, which was a disappointment. It makes chunks of ice about 1/2 inch big, a few larger and a few smaller. The feet of the machine are little vacuum suckers, so the machine does not slide around during use. UPDATE: Unit worked fine with a minimum of jamming for about 10 days, and then the blades stopped turning. As per instructions, I let it sit to see if there was a piece of ice stuck, but to no avail. The motor buzzed, but nothing was moving in there. I returned it to Amazon for an exchange. I'll give it a second try, but if this unit fails, then I'll return it for a refund and try the Waring also listed on this site. UPDATE 2: The replacement arrived, and lasted through one tray of ice cubes. Again, the unit is jammed for no visible reason. Back it goes, and for a refund this time. Not recommended.
Not as advertised. No snowcones or slushies May 6, 2009 JR (Grapevine, TX) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
The product quality is very poor. While it does crush ice as advertised, the strenght of the blades is very poor. I had the unit for 3 months and used it about 15 times, then it stoped. Opened the unit and found one of the rotating blades bent and jammed against one of the non-rotating blades. After unjamming and straightening the blade, proceeded to observe the operation with the cover removed an noticed how smaller ice cubes (less than 1-1/2") will force the rotating blade to the side and causing it to jam on the fixed blades.
In addition it does not have a setting for snow cones ice shaving.
I do not recommend this Ice Crusher
Blades Are Too Weak January 10, 2010 WANT ADS (Baltimore, MD) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We brought this product for Christmas cheer and it failed to excite. Actually, it was wonderful for the first two or so uses. Thereafter, the ice seemed to get "stuck" inside the unit. In other words, the mechanism inside the crusher does not grab the ice and the ice just spins around inside. The unit then requires serious agitation to get the ice to grind and come through the dispenser, which may damage the machine. We find that the only way to get this to work is to throw one piece of ice in at a time lengthwise, rendering the funnel at the top completely useless. Also, there are no variable settings for the ice, so it only crushes ice to one size. We worked in this way for about two weeks and then the machine just stopped grinding completely. This is now a throwaway item.
Jams continually April 17, 2010 Wesley Duckett (Odessa, TX USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The exterior of this machine is elegant stainless steel and a beautiful addition to any kitchen. Unfortunately, if you ever want to crush ice, you will be in for a frustrating experience. The conical hopper on top invites you to dump in ice. Not so. The cubes will not fall through individually. Instead, you have drop ice in one cube at a time. The second time I used it, the machine jammed. I am handy with tools, so I removed the top and extracted a cube that had jammed the mechanism. One of the rotating blades that crushes the ice had bent over sideways and had jammed against a stationary bar. I had to completely disassemble the machine in order to clear the jam. I crushed another tray without incident. The next time, the machine jammed again, requiring complete disassembly. Now, it jams just about every time, but thus far, I've been able to clear the jam without disassembling the unit. I never bothered to permanently reattach the lid. I have to have access to the mechanism just about every time I use it.
The motor is powerful and the gear mechanism appears sturdy enough, but the crushing blades needs to be more robust. I would not recommend this machine to anyone, under any circumstances.
Doesn't do Margaritas June 7, 2010 David J. Tomasini (Hollister, CA, 95004) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This machine only crushes ice down to the size suitable for rough snowcones...the advertising is a bit misleading as it claimed to produce ice to make slushies or margarita type drinks...no way.
